Though the CBC Radio Orchestra's life was ended by CBC Radio, the orchestra has been reincarnated in a new form: the National Broadcast Orchestra of Canada - Orchestre national de diffusion du Canada.
Dear Mark Steinmetz and CBC Radio, Prime Minister Harper, Members of Parliament, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage. We the undersigned want the CBC Radio Orchestra saved. We believe that the orchestra is an integral part of Canada's mosaic and an important contributor to Canada's unique and rich cultural heritage. Our Canada includes the CBC Radio Orchestra!

I can\'t find anything like the CBC anywhere else on the dial. The orchestra and present programming should be retained until the listeners, express the desire for changes and say what the changes could or should be.

Few of our cultural treasures are left - the CBC is the only keeper of visual/audio culture in the country. What more needs to be said?

Radio 2 in its classical format has been the oasis in a desert of many \"popular music\" stations in this area. Let me get this straight: you wan\'t to join this crowd ?

I hope Jian Ghomeishi signed this thing, \'cos I feel like his show\'s the leading edge in killing CBC\'s commitment to classical music. Killing it softly, of course.

Music is the universal language and the CBC Radio Orchestra is part of our collective Cdn heritage. PM Harper and company, get with the (music)program!!

Compared to many other Western Democratic countries, Canada does so very little to support the arts. The arts enrich our lives and makes us more of who we are. Surely supporting the CBC Orchestra is the very least our federal government can do.

If a tiny country like Denmark (population 5.468 million) can support a National Symphony Orchestra and 2 national choirs, Canada should be able to manage 1 orchestra

Classical music on CBC Radio and Radio Canada got me through my undergraduate work. I would not want to deprive successive generations of this important balm for the soul.
