Though the CBC Radio Orchestra's life was ended by CBC Radio, the orchestra has been reincarnated in a new form: the National Broadcast Orchestra of Canada - Orchestre national de diffusion du Canada.
Dear Mark Steinmetz and CBC Radio, Prime Minister Harper, Members of Parliament, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage. We the undersigned want the CBC Radio Orchestra saved. We believe that the orchestra is an integral part of Canada's mosaic and an important contributor to Canada's unique and rich cultural heritage. Our Canada includes the CBC Radio Orchestra!

This orchestra, and the whole CBC2 have been an important part of Canadian (and American) cultural life for mny years. To give these up would be a national disgrace - worse than losing the Stanley cup. Don Wiles

Please realise how important this issue is to so many Canadians, and reverse the changes to CBC 2 that began in 2007.

I spent many a lonely drive while trucking with only the CBC to listen to for many many kilkometers. And many of them were spent listening to the CBC orchestra as company. We can\'t let it go!k

You are axing some of my favourite shows. I only listen to CBC 2... well I used to only listen to CBC 2. This is a dark day for professional musicians in Canada and those who appreciate their talent, their virtuosity, and their art.

Save the orchestra and don\'t change the programing of Radio 2.

This decision reflects a failure to understand the composition of your audience and the ways they listen. Please reconsider, for the sake of your audience, our music and our musicians.

Be original. Keep things the way they are.

save the classical music!!!!

You aren\'t going to attract younger listeners to CBC by adding a few hours of popular music - those listeners are already committed to other stations or their ipods. Meanwhile you will lose MANY of your up-to-now loyal listeners.

Radio 2, as is, is one of the delights of living in rural Canada. Save our orchestra.

Classical music is the ray of sunshine that lights up my life even when it is dark outside.

By all means save the orchestra. Also reverse the present frightful trend away from classical music on Radio 2.

I cannot believe that CBC would be doing such a thing as this. I am a transplanted Canadian that relys on my daily dose of CBC to stay alive

Music is such an important subject for students. We as a society should be showing them by example the importance of music.
