Though the CBC Radio Orchestra's life was ended by CBC Radio, the orchestra has been reincarnated in a new form: the National Broadcast Orchestra of Canada - Orchestre national de diffusion du Canada.
Dear Mark Steinmetz and CBC Radio, Prime Minister Harper, Members of Parliament, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage. We the undersigned want the CBC Radio Orchestra saved. We believe that the orchestra is an integral part of Canada's mosaic and an important contributor to Canada's unique and rich cultural heritage. Our Canada includes the CBC Radio Orchestra!

Canadian culture must not be allowed to slide further downhill by liitng classical music to two hours a day. No commercial stations play classical musics (at least not out here in the west).

Who will play and record new Canadian content now? Are we, as a nation, succumbing to corporate culture? You can\'t even by a house with $M1 ! Get a life, CBC! I\'m very disappointed in the shift in attitude.

Go see The Singing Revolution to see how important music is to a culture. CBC is the only unimported culture we have. Leave it alone.

Supported financially by the people of Canada our voices should be heard as to the programs. There are many radio stations with general programming, but only one with such special culturally stimulating programs.

We are both under 45 years old and have three young boys who are growing up to love classical music. Classical music is not just for the older generation.

I recall hearing someone refer to the \'Canadian Broadcorping Castration\' 40 years ago. Castration indeed!
