Though the CBC Radio Orchestra's life was ended by CBC Radio, the orchestra has been reincarnated in a new form: the National Broadcast Orchestra of Canada - Orchestre national de diffusion du Canada.
Dear Mark Steinmetz and CBC Radio, Prime Minister Harper, Members of Parliament, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage. We the undersigned want the CBC Radio Orchestra saved. We believe that the orchestra is an integral part of Canada's mosaic and an important contributor to Canada's unique and rich cultural heritage. Our Canada includes the CBC Radio Orchestra!

SAVE CBC-RADIO2 ORCHESTRA. Perhaps it could be added to our Tax Form with a box to check off in support of the CBC Radio2-Orchestra and for everyone who checks the box, a percentage of tax dollars goes to fund this one-of-a- kind national treasure.

Please refer to the speech by Ivars Taurins on May 24th. They may not be my words but they express my sentiments.

CBC Radio was the door through which I entered the world of classical music. I am devasted the format is being changed.

This misguided agenda to homogenize the CBC so that its programming is indistinguishable from private stations is untenable. Classical music & the CBC Radio Orchestra are the number one reasons why I love CBC Radio. Shame on you!

CBCRadio2 is the ONLY station on the AM/FM dial that plays classical music. If I want to listen to anything else I have a dozen and one choices. PLEASE don\'t change the format and keep funding the orchestra...Thnak you

Technology and sciences can only take you so far (not very far) The younger generations need cultural activities and bodies such as the CBC orchestra to develope and enrich themselves.
Eva Penner
The mandate of CBC Radio2 is classical programming. We don\'t need another station giving us the same music as other commercial stations. If pop and jazz are going to be the norm we needn\'t spend money on the CBC.
Jacqueline Chapman
This is an important part of our cultural heritage. Classical music is for ALL citizens, not jus the elite.

The CBC Radio Orchestra is a necessary part of the Canadian landscape. Don\'t let us become like our southern neighbour.

While the quality of classical music provided by NPR in the United States is steadily improving, CBC seems to be going in the opposite direction. If you try to please too broad a range of musical interests, you will finish up by pleasing nobody

The CBC Radio orchestra is an important part of Canada\'s cultural fibre and heritage. It should maintained for the opportunity, education and pleasure it affords musicians and its audiences.

Surely the pittance the CBC Orchestra will save the CBC will be swamped by the irreplaceable cultural loss to Canada. Save the Orchestra. Save Canadian music.

I am furious with CBC for cutting classical music. It is reneging on its mandate.
