Though the CBC Radio Orchestra's life was ended by CBC Radio, the orchestra has been reincarnated in a new form: the National Broadcast Orchestra of Canada - Orchestre national de diffusion du Canada.
Dear Mark Steinmetz and CBC Radio, Prime Minister Harper, Members of Parliament, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage. We the undersigned want the CBC Radio Orchestra saved. We believe that the orchestra is an integral part of Canada's mosaic and an important contributor to Canada's unique and rich cultural heritage. Our Canada includes the CBC Radio Orchestra!

Stephanie Sellars The CBC and its orchetra are an essential communty connection in Canada. While we focus on inclusion, we need to honour what has been valued and will always be valued in the classical realm. Sincerely Stephanie Sellars

This is part of our National Heritage (as much as any building, if not more so) and should be preserved.

For goodness sake, your mandate is not to be forever eyeing the bottom line. I am well content to pay taxes so that the CBC can deliver quality classiscal music in a world turned sour by rampant commercialization.

Music is a very important part of our lives and CBC does a great job of educating people in that matter. I wish it will be part of the education of all our children and grand children.

As a transplanted American, I really value a place where they have not gutted al their cultural institutions. Don\'t make the mistake of knocking don an edifice that\'s meant so much to so many Canadians!

Being Canadian means doing business differently and uniquely, and not always making decisions based on the bottom line. There is nothing like CBC radio 2 and its orchestra, what it provides is more important than the dollars it brings in.
Myron Plett
I believe the CBC Radio Orchestra is a key component of Canada\'s public broadcaster, which itself must be given the tools to build and strengthen our country and our national identity.
Paul Higgs
The recent changes in radio 2 and the proposal to disband the orchestra are seriously reducing the quality of broadcasting of CBC.
